perfect flavor of summer

Sangria is such a great summer refreshment and always brings me back to my trip to Spain. Sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Spain enjoying a pitcher of sangria with my friend Sarah, people watching and taking in the nightlife. Heaven.

A friend is having a group of old coworkers over tonight for some sun and grilling. Should be a great time. So I decided to mix a batch of Sangria to bring along. It's really hot today and I think it would be the perfect refreshment. I don't remember where I got this recipe, but I changed it up a bit. It tastes amazing. Thought I would share...

Summer Sangria
3 bottle rosé wine
1/4 cup Creme de Cassis
16 oz. strawberries
6 oz. raspberries
1/4 cup sugar
2 liters seltzer water

Wash strawberries. Remove leaves. Cut into quarters vertically. Wash raspberries. Throw all fruit into large pitcher, you can really use any kind of fruit you want. Pour wine and creme de cassis into pitcher. Add sugar and mix. Chill in fridge for 3-6 hours. Before serving add seltzer and mix. Pour into glasses with ice, make sure each glass gets some fruit. Enjoy with friends!
